Roux Creole Cuisine Cooking Class

 

Chef Robert shares his knowledge in a series of classes held on Saturdays. 

The class starts with an introduction to the 11 spices that create a Creole spice mix, how to make a perfect roux, knife skills, building complex flavors, preparation of a menu, a general Q&A, and ends with lunch, wine and lively conversation. Class ends at 2:30PM. Chef Robert's friendly personality and natural teaching style makes for a fun and informative experience. $100 per person. Eight seats available for September 21. Email rouxlb@rouxlaguna.com to reserve a spot.

Cooking Classes with Chef Robert

Chef Robert is a graduate of the San Francisco Culinary Academy and trained in French Cuisine. He's traveled all over the world learning global spices and culinary techniques and most recently, prior to Roux, was executive chef for Seven Degrees. 

The Roux cooking class starts at noon with an introduction to the 11 spices that create a Creole spice mix, how to make a perfect roux, knife skills, building complex flavors, how to prepare a meal menu, a general Q&A, and ends with lunch, wine and lively conversation. Class ends at 2:30PM. Chef Robert's friendly personality and natural teaching style makes for a fun and informative experience. 

Classes are held one Saturday each month. Please check RouxLaguna.com for the next scheduled class or email rouxLB@RouxLaguna.com for upcoming date and menu. 

If you have a party of six or more, we can schedule a Saturday of your choice and the menu of your choice.  Maximum class size is eight. It’s a great family experience or way to celebrate someone’s birthday.

Chef Robert's version of a traditional Southern Buttermilk Pie won Best Dessert at the 2018 Taste of Laguna event. 


Diners at Roux Creole Cuisine agree with the judges, making the Buttermilk Pie our best-selling dessert.


You can order a Buttermilk Pie for a party or to enjoy at home.

Creole King crab Leg boil

Creole King Crab Legs every last Sunday of the month. King Crab Legs,  Corn on the Cob, Red Potatoes boiled in Creole spices served with grilled Andouille Sausage. Comes with Southern Peanut Slaw and a glass of Prosecco. $49.
