Classes with Chef Robert

Chef Robert Villanueva, a graduate of the San Francisco Culinary Academy and trained in French Cuisine, has traveled all over the world learning global spices and culinary techniques. 


Chef Robert shares his knowledge in a series of classes held the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. The current class starts with an introduction to the 11 spices that create a Creole spice mix, how to make a perfect roux, knife skills, building complex flavors, a general Q&A, and ends with lunch, wine and lively conversation. Class ends at 2:30PM. Chef Robert's friendly personality and natural teaching style makes for a fun and informative experience. $100 per person.


Maximum participation is eight people.  If you have a group of eight, we can schedule a class any Saturday of the month.

Chef Robert's version of a traditional Southern Buttermilk Pie won Best Dessert at the 2018 Taste of Laguna event. 


Diners at Roux Creole Cuisine agree with the judges, making the Buttermilk Pie our best-selling dessert.


You can order a Buttermilk Pie for a party or to enjoy at home.
